HARARE born DJ, Petronella Mudyahoto, known as Black Pepper, will host her first Culture experience event in Beitbridge on May 23.

The gig runs under the Africa and Culture Day Celebration theme.

It features a heavy-hitting lineup including Harare guest artist Boi Shona, alongside local Venda star Bhadilah, DJ Jungle Booster, MC Kay One, DJ Scorpion, and Alvin Stavo.

Born at Baines Avenue Clinic on December 17, 2003, the 22-year-old artist holds a degree in Development Studies from the University of Economics and Innovation in Lublin, Poland.

She attended Avondale Primary School and Watershed High School before breaking into the music scene.

In terms of hobbies she is enthusiastic towards basketball and virtual gaming .

She began her deejaying career in Harare in 2023, previously playing at Liquid Bar in Masvingo and Harare’s popular Jongwe Corner before relocating to the border town in 2026.

She currently holds down a dj residency at Canvas Curve in Beitbridge.

Event organizer, Pepper spoke about the vision behind the celebration.

“The show is my first experience bringing together Djs, Mcs, local Artists to create some hype and good vibes. Not forgetting that its a culture month we expect culture reveal from diverse tribes in terms of dressing”. She said

To cater to the diverse crowd, the deck-spinners are preparing multi-genre sets. DJ Scorpion said.

“l have prepared my musical sets to entertain all sorts of different tribes with the kind of music they enjoy, accommodating the Shona, ndebele, Venda audience all in one”

Beitbridge’s own Bhadilah, also known as Vhafosti, will hold it down for the host town as the sole local act on the roster. he said speaking to Ziyah News Network.

“l am ready to represent the Vha Venda culture on the day perfoming along side guest artist Boi Shona from Harare, hoping to create good vibes at the event”he said
