THE search for the next Miss Beitbridge has officially begun, with organisers calling on young women from the border town to register for the prestigious beauty pageant expected to take place in June.
The competition aims to empower young women by promoting confidence, leadership, elegance, and community representation while creating opportunities for personal growth and exposure.
Speaking to this publication, one of the organisers and reigning Miss Beitbridge for the year 2025, Andile Matutu, said preparations for the event are already underway and they expect between eight and 12 contestants in this year’s edition.
“We are expecting about eight to 12 or more models to be part of this event. This is not only about modelling, but it also empowers women by boosting their self-esteem and courage to do more in life,” said Matutu.
Matutu said, interested contestants must be residents of Beitbridge, aged between 17 and 26 years, single, and without visible tattoos or markings.
Aspiring contestants are also required to pay a registration fee of US$10 to secure participation.
The winner of the pageant is set to walk away with a US$500 cash prize alongside the opportunity to become an ambassador for Beitbridge and represent the town at various events and platforms.
Matutu said, young women with ambition, confidence, and passion to take advantage of the opportunity and showcase their talent on stage.
“The search is on for the next queen of Beitbridge. This is a platform for young women to shine, build confidence, and open doors for future opportunities,” said Matutu.
Registration is currently underway, with interested participants being urged to apply.
Chris Farai Ncube, the director of Miss Beitbridge, was not available for comment at the time of publication.
