Masvingo- Unlike many musicians who focus on entertainment and education, upcoming Gospel artist Tracemore Muruvi from Masvingo is different. She is driven by a desire to mend broken hearts through her music.
With eight singles already recorded under Masvingo’s leading producer Leadmas, Muruvi’s music is inspired by her personal experiences and her faith.
“As a gospel artist, I wish my music to heal souls and also to live a better life looking after my kids. I sing from my experience, so when I’m in a situation, I usually read my bible and pray and so everything just flows In my music, I’m also telling people about my God, how he can change anyone’s life to a better one,” said Muruvi.
Muruvi, who began her professional music journey in 2021 said she always had the singing voice tracing it way back in the Sunday school choir, where it all began.
I started singing when I was 11 in Sunday school, that time I was living with my uncle in Marondera. My Sunday school teacher told me that I had a beautiful voice and was made a leading vocalist and from there I loved singing so much till this day.”
The journey to becoming a professional artist did come without its own fair share of challenges for Muruvi Masvingo promoters in the UK based VC Killa and Prophet Chipato who have helped her financially and giving her a platform to perform.
“At first, it was tough, sometimes when you don’t have someone to support you financially to get into the studio. As a Christian, am not saying I’m perfect but I think as people listen to my music they will recognise Masvingo making it easier for more artists to be recognised. There is talent in the town it’s just the support that is a bit lacking,” she said.
The soft spoken Muruvi also says she desires to make an impact across the world with her music and venture into philanthropic work.
