The Zimbabwe Annual Lekompo Cultural Festival returns to Ha Moze, Beitbridge, on August 15 for its fourth edition, featuring local and regional artists.
The festival will feature back-to-back performances by DJ Afro Master and Charks SA, alongside local artists Bhadilah, Jex Waga, Naqua, King Hluza, DJ Mrex and DJ Doctor.
Local comedian Galaha Dzamanga and MC Diva will also entertain festival attendees .
The event largely represent and celebrate Bolobedu Music culture which has been dominant in Limpopo, earlier constructed by musicians that includes King Monada and Makhadzi.
Although now in its fourth edition, the festival has been running for two years and has become known for its distinctive Lekompo fashion, with attendees dressing in Nike, Lacoste and Makompo Aruna outfits.
The growing Lekompo culture, influenced by South African artists such as Shebeshxt, Tribby Wadi Bhozza, Kharishma and Shandesh, continues to gain popularity through its music and fashion.
Event organiser Rofhiwa Ndou said this year’s festival has been designed to give more opportunities to local artists in Beitbridge.
“It’s always a good time when we host the Lekompo Cultural Festival. This time we have made it more convenient for local artists in Beitbridge to participate in this great show as we aim to promote local art and entertainment,” he said.
He also said, this year’s edition includes some of Beitbridge’s leading DJs.
“This year’s edition has incorporated relevant key DJs in Beitbridge, including the 2025 DJs Battle winner, DJ Doctor, and the legendary DJ Mrex,” he said.
Speaking to Ziyah News Network, Ha Moze Resort manager Lucia Muleya said the venue is ready to welcome visitors from across the country.
“Ha Moze is the place to be for the Lekompo Cultural Festival. We are more than ready to receive visitors from all corners of Zimbabwe since this event attracts audiences from as far as Bulawayo,” she said.
She also said, attendees should expect a full day of entertainment, good food from the resort’s restaurant and refreshments from the bar.
