A man tormented by his estranged wife has been granted a five-year long peaceful breathing space from the good loving thats gone bad.

Tinashe Mhepo sought the court’s protection from Nyaha Kabayira, once a woman of his dreams.

He told the court how she was now threatening to kill him.

She also caused disturbances at his workplace.

The case was heard before Provincial Magistrate Mbonisi Kaweni.

Kabayira, did not attend court even though it was confirmed she was served.

“I want her to be barred from coming to Xintai Palm River at my working place and making trouble, but everything I get I send to her and the children,” Mhepo said.

“We were married, but now we are separated because she was threatening to kill me.”

He said he was willing to continue supporting his children according to his means, but wanted to stop direct contact with his estranged wife.

“I want to take responsibility of my children as per my means and I don’t want her to call me. I also want to be assisted with a place where I can leave money for the two children we have,” he said.

Mhepo told the court he doubted the paternity of their second child, alleging he had discovered nude pictures of another man in Kabayira’s phone and that she returned from her maternal home pregnant.

Kaweni asked how the respondent would communicate regarding the welfare of the children to which Mhepo àccepted taking her calls.

“It’s okay for her to call me when it’s an emergency or issues concerning the children.”

In his judgement in default Kaweni barred Kabayira from visiting Xintai Palm River, which is Mhepo’s workplace, from threatening him, and from calling him except on issues relating to the children.

The order will run for five years. Mhepo is to serve the order on the respondent.
