A man who borrowed R4300 from a colleague has been ordered to repay it in instalments after telling the court he is now hustling and not working.
Rembuluwani Siphali had approached the court demanding that Khotso Siziba pay back R4300 he lent him when they were working together.
“He owes me money. We were working together and I loaned him,” Siphali told the court.
Siziba did not dispute the debt but pleaded for time to pay.
He told the court that when he borrowed the money he was working and could afford to repay it, but now he is unemployed.
“If I am allowed to pay R500 rand a month since I was not working. At the time I was working so I could pay but now I am hustling. I will pay the money starting end of October but the problem is I am not working,” Siziba said.
Presiding Magistrate Mbonisi Kaweni ordered Siziba to repay the R4300 in instalments starting at the end of October and for each successive month until the full amount is repaid.
