ZIMBABWE’s senior soccer team coach Marian Marinica has parted ways with the national team.
In an announcement on Monday the Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) said the resignation was on Marinica’s instance.
“The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) announces that Marian Marinica has resigned from his position as Head Coach of the Zimbabwe Senior Men’s National Team, citing personal reasons,” said the ZIFA Media & Communications Department in a statement.
“ZIFA has accepted his resignation and thanks Coach Marinica for his contribution to the Warriors. The Association wishes him well in his future endeavours,” it said.
Kaitano Tembo who was Marinica’s deputy has been appointed Interim Head Coach and will lead the team for the upcoming Unity Cup assignment in the United Kingdom.
Zifa said Tembo will be assisted by Takesure Chiragwi, who has been appointed Assistant Coach.
Marinica, a Romanian, was appointed Warriors head coach in November 2025 on a one-year contract.
He replaces German tactician Michael Nees, with the mandate to rebuild the team and improve competitiveness for the 2025 AFCON in Morocco.
