FORGET the heat, this weekend is explosive!

It starts Friday when people will try and cool off the searing heat.

Then Saturday night at formerly PaGomo now called Ndlovukazi Recreational Centre, a music extravaganza headlined by Feli Nandi is billed to further cool down the hot summer nights, bringing down the roof at the lavish joint.

Sunday all roads lead ro Ronnie’s Sports Arena for a clash called “The Battle Of The Limpopo River Part Two” featuring Vhembe Stars Academy at home against brothers in arms Dulibadzimu United football clubs.

At Ndlovukazi Recreational Centre, the Harare artist is said to be reserving space for local artists making hem taste the big stage.

They will perform at the new-look leisure spot almost a year after its owner David Mhiribidi passed on.

A lover of music himself, Mhiribidiwill smile in his grave at the fresh make up of his naturally attractive place with an appeal for both children and adults alike.

Designers have added a “happy cage” – a new bar on the northen side and a large space on the other side will host kids coming to the naturally attractive spot overlooking the two bridges linking Zimbabwe and South Africa.

Entertainment guru at Ziyah News Network, Netshakuma Muleya says many other artists including Thelma Hearts, expected to fuse reggae and jazz sounds into the night, will happen at the night tye place comes alive again.

“With Feli Nandi headlining the show and local entertainers forming a significant part of the lineup, the event is expected to provide a platform for Beitbridge talent while offering music fans a night of live performances,” Muleya wrote in his weekly instalment of Showbiz news.

“Beitbridge has a pool of emerging talent, including musician Regis Mandangu, popularly known as Mark Geezo, who has been building his profile through music releases and social media promotion,” Muleya wrote.

Local MC and master of the microphone “The Edutainer” will lea the pack in giving directions of the “master event” for which preparations and groundwork cosmetics have been ongoing.

But before Feli Nandi takes Beitbridge To Sunday, whats up Friday night?

A noisy collection awaits revellers at the Kembo Mohadi Square where the line of bars has created a new identity similar to the Long Street in the Beitbdge CBD.

As usual the Darlington Mulowa’s Black Alley Bar will hold the quieter time offering smooth whisky and cold beers as the endowed bar ladies flaunt.

Blurring sound will as usual, pierce the night from the Gumblers Bar next to Club Ontime now synonymous with old school music, sounds that take many back.

Near shoehouse, Bata, Hustlers will also belt ot its fun for its crowd as the Friday develops to Saturday.

Obviously the never-say-die Lava Lounge will carry the night for drifters to Saturday for Feli Nandi on her maiden Beitbridge visit takes the town to a derby Sunday when the Battle of The Limpopo River Part Two comes alive.

Slotted for Tinashe Mabhidi’s home of soccer Sunday, Vhembe Stars Academy takes on a resurgent Dulibadzimu United FC.

That match is expected to bring down the curtains on what appears a memorable weekend in its every aspect, including the punishing heat.

The reverse fixture of the battle of the Limpopo River, Part One, ended in a draw but visitors on the day Vhembe Stars Academy have always questioned the last goal they are convinced never crossed the line.

Incidentally, the goal came from the last dance for Dulibadzimu United and Mabhidhi’s son, Liam and striker Evidence Chiraswa.

Liam, who now turns out for Highlanders joined at the mid-season window, curled a wicked floating blinder, nodded in by Chiraswa as his last dance before joining Tongogara FC.

His wicked free kick from range was whiring and dipped to Chiraswa glancing nod and Vhembe Stars Academy keeper kissed the dust.

“Tomorrow must bring an answer. The bull of the kraal should show up in Sunday’s game. We cannot wait,” said one of Beitbridge’s followers of soccer.

Vhembe Stars Academy, which is home in this encounter, has a bone to crush against it brother with whom it shares players.

Benedict Sithole, among the Central Region Division One top goal scorers of the 2025 season, will face his former side, coach Rutherford Matondo and crowd in Sunday’s encounter.
Sithole will in that battle bring along Patrick Kelly Muleya and two other former Dulibadzimu United former players to face their former paymasters.

On the other side a few other Vhembe Stars Academy players including their gaffer Stanford “Stano” Ncube have an axe to grind.

Stano has assembled an uncompromising side which wants to upset Dulibadzimu United and prove they are the new boys on the block.

They come into the game after giving log leaders Blanket Mine a match to remember and the gold miners had to dig deeper for their solitary goal last week.

Any way the match goes, soccer is the winner and Beitbridge residents deserve the best.
