GRAIN Tigers’ sensational goalkeeper, Allan Masaya, has won the October Jutan Printers Goalkeeper of the Month award in the Central Region Soccer League following a string of exceptional performances.
Speaking to Ziyah News Network, Masaya said he was over joyed after winning his first ever Goalkeeper of the Month award in the Central Region Soccer League.
“I’m very happy to win this award. It’s a result of teamwork. We played well this month and it is also my first award in the Central Region,” Masaya said.
Masaya kept four clean sheets in five matches during October, including impressive performances against Dulibadzimu United, where Grain Tigers secured a 1-0 victory and FC Platinum, whom they defeated 3-0.
He displayed exceptional performances in all these crucial encounters acept in their 1-0 defeat against Kwekwe United.
Masaya has quickly established himself as a key figure for his side since the 2025 season.
Elsewhere, Blanket Mine forward Nhlabati Mathew’s meteoric rise in the Central Region Soccer League has reached another milestone after he won the YAFM Player of the Month award for October.
Nhlabati has now won the award for three consecutive months, having also claimed the honours in August and September.
He played a crucial role in helping Blanket Mine secure their maiden title.
Nhlabati is currently the second highest goalscorer in the Central Region with 20 goals, just one behind Chapungu’s Watson Edward, who leads the scoring charts with 21 goals.
In another award, Kwekwe United coach Tendai Chikuni won the Ronnies Sports Arena Coach of the Month award for October following an impressive run of results with his side as they were chasing league champions Blanket Mine.
Chikuni guided Kwekwe United to a 3-0 victory over Superstrikers on Matchday 29, a 2-1 win against Tongogara on Matchday 30, a 2-0 victory over FC Platinum on Matchday 31, and a 1-0 win against Grain Tigers on Matchday 32.
He also also secured a 1-1 draw against Blanket Mine in the previous fixture when Blanket walked away with the league title.
The impressive run saw Kwekwe United go unbeaten in all five matches played in October.
