The Masvingo Magistrates’ Court has sentenced two men Godknows Moyana (28) and Prince Chiremba (27) to 30 months in prison for a string of house break-ins in Masvingo’s suburbs.
The duo was convicted on eight counts of unlawful entry and theft.
The National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe states that between October 2024 and April 2025, Moyana and Chiremba targeted homes in Pangolin, Rujeko A & C, and Hillside, stealing various items including cellphones, cosmetics, solar equipment, window frames, and cash.
Detectives from CID Masvingo led investigations, and the duo was arrested while trying to sell one of the stolen phones at Chitima Market.
Some stolen items, including a Vivo cellphone and window frames, were recovered. The court condemned the accused for repeatedly breaching the security of ordinary citizens and exploiting unattended homes.
The sentence serves as a warning to would-be offenders that house breaking will not be tolerated in Masvingo or anywhere in the country and that the ZRP is always ready to deal with criminals.
