Zimbabwe’s women’s national team is set to face Mozambique in their opening match of the Hollywood Bets COSAFA Women’s tournament on October 24 in Gqeberha, South Africa.
Historically, the Mighty Warriors and Mozambique last met at Lucas Moripe Stadium during the 2023 COSAFA Women’s third-place playoff, where Zimbabwe suffered a 2-0 loss, placing them fourth in the previous edition.
The Mighty Warriors are looking for victory against Mozambique in their Group D opener at Wolfson Stadium. Despite consistently reaching the knockout stages in recent tournaments, they have yet to claim their second title since their golden days in 2011.
Elsewhere, Eswatini secured a crucial 6-0 victory over Seychelles in the opening match of the Hollywood Bets COSAFA. Meanwhile, hosts South Africa cruised to a 1-0 victory over Namibia in Group B at NMB Stadium.
