Nigeria secured a 1-0 victory over the Dominican Republic on matchday three, effectively sealing their qualification for the quarter-finals.  

Super Flamingos’ star, Shakirat Moshood, netted a long-range goal in the 89th minute, leading Nigeria to a well-deserved victory at Estadio Olímpico Félix Sánchez.

 The team relied heavily on long-range shots throughout the match; however, they struggled to convert these opportunities into goals.  

The Super Flamingos remain undefeated in their group, with this win marking their third consecutive victory in the group stage.

Nigeria now sits at the top of the group with 9 points.  

In addition, young midfielder Shakirat Moshood has showcased exceptional form, scoring in all three of Nigeria’s matches. She has emerged as one of the standout players of the tournament so far.  

In Group B, defending champions Spain have been a dominant force, performing impressively. The Spaniards overcame a 1-0 deficit to defeat Colombia 2-1, securing their spot in the quarter-finals in the Dominican Republic.
