The Minister of Home Affairs and Cultural Heritage, Kazembe Kazembe has issued a press statement reassuring citizens that peace prevails in the country and that they should go about their daily business without fear.
“I want to reassure all Zimbabweans that peace prevails in the country today, tomorrow and thereafter. They should go about their business assured of peace and tranquility in the country,”said Kazembe Kazembe Honourable Minister of Home Affairs and Cultural Heritage.
The minister warned citizens not to be misled by old recycled videos and narratives being spread by those bent on causing public disorder. He specifically mentioned the Bulawayo vendor video, which occurred long ago, as an example of such misinformation.
“Zimbabweans should not be hoodwinked or misled by old recycled videos meant to give context to narratives being fostered by those bent on causing public disorder, for instance the Bulawayo vendor video which occurred long back as vendors were bidding farewell to their departed colleague.”Said Minister of Home Affairs and Cultural Heritage.
In addition, the Minister Kazembe urged Zimbabweans not to be used by criminals who may try to loot from businesses under the guise of planned demonstrations.
He emphasized that the government has a constitutional mandate to safeguard the security and territorial integrity of the country, and security services will not apologize or renege in fulfilling this mandate.
“Zimbabweans are warned not to be used by criminals who are eyeing for an opportunity to loot from businesses under the guise of planned demonstrations.”
