The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has issued a warning against circulating old videos purporting to show demonstrations in Bulawayo, stating that the city is calm and peaceful.
The ZRP specifically cautioned against a video posted by the Zim/Global Eye WhatsApp Channel, labeling it as false and misleading. The police urged the public to ignore the video and not to spread misinformation.
“The ZRP warns Zim / Global Eye WhatsApp Channel against circulating old videos of alleged demonstrations in Bulawayo today. Bulawayo is calm and peaceful.”
ZRP further urged the public to ignore the video posted by Zim/Global Eye
“The public should ignore the video posted by Zim / Global Eye WhatsApp Channel as it is false. Facts on the ground in Bulawayo clearly speak for themselves. Police officers are fully deployed on the ground.”
The police have assured the public that the situation in the country is peaceful, and that officers are fully deployed on the ground to maintain order.
The police have encouraged the public to go about their daily activities without fear, as they continue to conduct patrols to ensure public safety.
“As police officers conduct patrols, the public should feel free to embark on their day to day activities.”
