ZIMBABWEAN president Emmerson Mnangagwa has reshuffled some of his permanent secretaries in a move announced by Dr Martin Rushwaya through a press release.


Rushwaya who is the Chief Secretary to tye President and Cabinet’s most notable move was reassigning of Dr Thomas Utete Wushe to the Ministry of Mines and Mineral Development from his past post at Industry and Commerce.

“His Excellency the President has, in terms of Section 205(1) of the Constitution of Zimbabwe, approved the re-assignment of the following Permanent Secretaries,” said Rushwaya in the press release dated April 30 2026.:
Simon Masanga was moved to Environment, Climate and Wildlife from the Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare where he was replaced by Pfungwa Kunaka.

Utete Wushe replaced Kunaka at Mines and Mining Development.

Ambassador Tadeous Chifamba has taken over from Wushe Utete at Industry and Commerce while Kunaka moves to Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare.
Mnangagwa also moved professor Obert Jiri to newly created Agriculture Mechanisation and Water Resources Development.
