A pirate taxi driver allegedly drove against traffic and straight into an oncoming car in an apparent protest and attempt to scare a Municipality of Beitbridge Traffic policeman who had arrested him for parking at a prohibited place near the border post.
Witnesses said they saw the blue Honda Fit car registration AEE 2173 driving in the wrong direction wth the driver appearing to be wrestling with a Municipality Police officer.
Other sources from where the issue started said the driver sped off in an attempt to evade arrest but the officer who was already inside the car tried to stop him.
In the ensuing tussle the driver steered his car up against traffic and collided head-on with a Mitsubishi vehicle at the busy roundabout.
Police had already arrived at the scene by the time Ziyah News Network got there, and the driver of the Honda Fit was arrested.
It appeared noone was injured in the accident.
