Vice President Cde Kembo Mohadi was on Thursday conferred with an n Honorary Doctorate of Social Sciences in Leadership (Honoris Causa) from Great Zimbabwe University (GZU).
The conferment is in recognition of his outstanding service and contribution to national development.
The honour was bestowed during GZU’s 19th Graduation Ceremony at the university’s main campus in Masvingo presided over by his principal President Emmerson Mnangagwa, who is also the Chancellor of all state universities.
In his citation, GZU Vice Chancellor Professor Rungano Zvobgo described Mohadi as a distinguished leader whose decades of public service have been marked by dedication, patriotism, and an unwavering commitment to community empowerment.
“Vice President Mohadi has demonstrated exceptional leadership and commitment to advancing Zimbabwe’s development agenda,” he said.
“His contribution to national unity and social transformation is worthy of this honour.”
Accepting the award, Mohadi expressed gratitude to the university and said the recognition symbolised the collective effort of all Zimbabweans striving for unity and progress.
“I am deeply humbled by this recognition. Leadership is about service, and this honour reinforces my commitment to continue serving our great nation,” he said.
President Mnangagwa congratulated Mohadi and the 3,477 graduates capped on the day, urging them to use their knowledge and skills to contribute to the country’s modernisation and industrialisation goals.
The ceremony was attended by Cabinet Ministers, senior Government officials, academics, and representatives from various sectors.
