POLICE have confirmed they are investigating murder in relationship to Ashton Mhanga, the money changer from the Zimbabwe Electricity Transmission and Distribution Company (ZETDC) Pension Fund Complex at Beitbridge.

Mhanga’s (40) remains were picked at the Waterworks Stream near the Vhembe View (Eastlea) Suburb of Beitbridge.

Police also found the remains of another unidentified man near the Beitbridge aerodrome on the same day.

“We can confirm police picked up the body of a man who had earlier been reported missing. He was picked up at the Waterworks Stream in the Eastlea Suburb of Beitbridge. Earlier the man had been reported missing,” the Matabeleland South Police Press and Liason Officer C Dube.

She said police had also picked an unidentified man near the aerodrome.

Mhanga was reported missing last Tuesday and police were treating his case as murder, she said.

Investigations by Ziyah News Network revealed Mhanga was last seen with a man of the cloth with whom he always prayed.

The man of the cloth has since disappeared after the death of his disciple whose skull police said had been fractured by a stone found on his shoulders.

Mhanga is said to have been found his body showing he was kneeling in prayer when he met his demise.

His sandals were a few metres away suggesting he had removed them to step on the “holy place” that turned to be where he was butchered.

Another lady identified only as Kuda, who used to communicate with Manga and the man of the cloth in what appears a love triangle, has also gone under.

Some friends of Manga, in a desperate search of their loved one, approached another “prophet” known as Madzibaba Wiselodge who said he had never seen Mhanga.

But it is understood a taxi driver confirmed having left him at Wiselodge place of worship he was last seen alive with his pastor.

Manga’s death has shocked Beitbridge residents who are still wondering whether it was a schemed robbery.

What is baffling is why Wiselodge has disappeared.

And more intriguing is why Kuda, known to have threatened Manga with death after he decided to end their partnership, has also disappeared.
