Former Dynamos player and now coach Charles Murape has announced his departure from the club via social media.
Murape, who began his coaching career in 2016 alongside Lloyd Mutasa, has parted ways with Dynamos due to various issues with the club’s leadership.
“I feel honored and privileged to have served the club during this transitional period,” he wrote. “However, after careful consideration and discussions with my family regarding the tense situation between the club’s leadership and myself primarily concerning my professional candidness and honesty, which seemed to rub some in the leadership the wrong way I have decided to step down.”
He expressed gratitude toward the club and his colleagues for the opportunity to coach one of the biggest teams in Zimbabwe.
“I’m confident that I’m leaving the team in a good place and wish them all the best in the future. Thank you again for your support and understanding,” he added.
The Dynamos legend has had a love hate relationship with his former club as he has faced disciplinary issues previously.
In a previous incident, Dynamos suspended Murape in August 2023 along with manager Richard Chihoro, accusing him of bringing and using marijuana and other substances during training sessions, among other charges.
