Zimbabwe’s U20 national team, the Young Warriors, is set to face Zambia in the COSAFA U20 Championships semi-finals at ABB Matola Stadium.
The last encounter between Zimbabwe and Zambia was in 2016, when Zambia triumphed over Zimbabwe with a score of 5-1.
The calculation for the best runner-up across all pools resulted in the teams finishing last in Groups A and C being excluded to level the playing field. Zambia finished second in the three-team Group B with three points and a goal difference of -1.
The nation is hopeful for a strong performance from Coach Simon Marange and his team as they aim to secure a place in the finals and ultimately qualify for the AFCON U20 tournament.
In other semi-final action, South Africa’s U20 team is set to take on Angola’s U20 team on October 3, 2024, at 12:00 PM.
