The accident occurred along the busy stretch between Makhado and Musina, a key route linking South Africa and Zimbabwe.
“The recovery operation was completed without further incident, allowing traffic to resume,” Mashudu said.
“Vehicles are now moving smoothly through the Witvlag area, bringing relief to motorists who had experienced delays during the closure,”
The department thanked road users for their patience and cooperation throughout the operation, which required coordinated efforts to clear the scene and ensure the safety of other motorists.
Motorists have been urged to continue exercising caution while travelling and to adhere to road safety regulations. The department reiterated its call for responsible driving, reminding road users to prioritise safety at all times.
