Harare – -The Minister of Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare; Honourable Edgar Moyo has appointed the new NSSA Board following his dismissal of the previous Board.
Minister Moyo made the announcement yesterday in Harare installing a new board that is expected to steer the Social Security entity which has been hogging the limelight for the wrong reasons over the years.
Despite it’s vast investments in various property and blue chip companies, pensioners are wallowing in poverty struggling to make ends meet. Critics have argued that the entity has failed to adequately give value to pensioners because of corruption and lavish remunerations by executives and officials in its parent ministry.
It remains to be seen if the new board will clean the tattered image of NSSA and push for the improved welfare for pensioners.
The appointed board members are :
Mr. Christopher Dube- Chairman
Ms. Josephine Takundwa
Mr. Innocent Chinyama
Mr. Gilbert Takavarasha
Ms Florence Mucha Taruvinga
Ms. Ruth Sibanda
Mrs. Mercy Faith Matongera
Mr. David Dzatsunga
Mr Walter Mupandawana
