Oscar Mbo has found himself in the eye of a storm as allegations swirl around his DJ, who is accused of sabotaging fellow artist Makhadzi during her performance at the Macufe Festival in Bloemfontein.

The incident, which took place on October 13, has ignited outrage among fans and raised questions about the dynamics within the South African music scene.

This drama unfolds against a backdrop of previous accusations against Mbo’s crew. Just weeks earlier, singer Kharishma took to social media with a heartbreaking post, claiming that Mbo’s team had removed her USB while she was performing at the Blouberg festival.

This incident had already cast a shadow over Mbo’s reputation, as he was also alleged to have arrived late to that event.

Fast forward to the Macufe Festival, where Makhadzi, was performing when she allegedly experienced a similar fate.

In a heartfelt social media post, she expressed her disappointment, revealing that Oscar Mbo’s DJ had yanked her USB from the deck while she was still on stage.

“Bloemfontein Macufe, I am sorry for only performing 20 minutes. I don’t know if this is about Oscar Mbo’s PR trend, but why in such crazy moments, when people paid their money to see us? Unfortunately, Oscar Mbo’s DJ removed my USB when I was about to finish… Awwa bafana raorata, but don’t do that please. PR can be done without hurting others,” she wrote.

Makhadzi’s emotional statement struck a chord with fans who felt she was disrespected in the middle of her performance.

Following the incident, the two artists engaged in a live social media conversation in an effort to mend their differences. During this discussion, Oscar Mbo alleged that Makhadzi arrived late, which he claimed led to her taking up more of the performance time than agreed upon.

In response, Makhadzi asserted that she had communicated her performance schedule with the promoter, while Mbo claimed he had no prior knowledge of this arrangement.

Despite the tensions, both artists acknowledged their respect for one another, with Mbo stating, “I understand that sometimes ugly moments happen.” They agreed to wait for an official statement from the promoters regarding the incident.

In a surprising turn, it was revealed that Mbo had a private conversation with Makhadzi after the incident, which led her to remove her initial post from social media.
