Sungura music icon Paradzai Mesi has found himself at the center of social media controversy after a disturbing video surfaced showing him attempting to perform while visibly intoxicated. The clip, captured during Somandla “Mafia” Ndebele’s 26th album launch at Steak House Pub & Grill in Waterfalls, Harare, has sparked outrage among fans and the general public.
In the footage shared by H-Metro, Paradzai Mesi appears unsteady on his feet, struggling to stay upright as he attempts to sing. The singer, clearly in a drunken stupor, had to be physically supported by others on stage. His performance was chaotic off-key, discordant, and visibly uncoordinated leading to him being hurriedly escorted off the stage as the audience watched in shock.
Sources at the event revealed that Paradzai Mesi was seen drinking heavily prior to his performance. “He looked intoxicated even before he stepped onto the stage,” a witness said. “It was clear he was not in a state to perform, but he went ahead anyway, which was really disappointing.”
Many netizens expressed their disapproval and disappointment over the singer’s conduct. Comments flooded social media condemning his unprofessionalism and the unfortunate display of substance abuse. Fans and followers voiced concern about Mesi’s well-being, with some calling for him to seek help.
