The race for promotion in the Central Region Soccer League Division One is heating up, with Hard Rock FC, Sheasham and Gwanda Pirates all tightening their grip on the title chase after ruthless victories.

In a key fixture, debutants Hard Rock FC claimed a crucial 2-0 win over last season’s runners-up Tongogara in the fiercely contested Kwekwe derby.

Despite the victory, Hard Rock remain behind table-toppers Sheasham, who continue to set the pace.

Fellow newcomers Gwanda Pirates made a bold statement in the Matebeleland South derby, brushing aside Dulibadzimu United with a commanding 3-0 triumph.

Sheasham remain unbeaten and undisputed in the 2025 campaign. Under the guidance of Coach Prince Matore, they look primed to dominate the Central Region Soccer League.

But Matore remains cautious despite his team’s flawless run.

“We still have a long way to go and many tough games ahead. It’s not over yet—Hard Rock and Gwanda Pirates are chasing us relentlessly,” he said.

What is clear, however, is that Sheasham, Gwanda Pirates and Hard Rock have emerged as the frontrunners in the battle for the crown and the coveted PSL promotion spot.
