Days after receiving moral boosting support from the President, Zimbabwe’s Rugby national team, the Sables are through to the final of the Rugby Africa Cup after beating Kenya by 29-23.

The Sables had to dig deep after going into half time trailing 13-18.

By storming into the final, the team now has a shot at World Cup qualification either directly as winners or as runners who will go into a playoff against teams from other continents

Following the Sables ‘victory, the Zimbabwe Rugby Union stated, “Everyday we thank the Lord for the blessing of being privileged to represent millions of people around the world and back home. Thank you for all the prayers and contribution you have made into our 12th consecutive win one for the record books,”.

Sables ‘ dream of earning  the ticket to the 2027 Rugby World Cup alongside Springboks  continues to thrive, as they are just one match away  from securing it.

Meanwhile, Namibia effortlessly cruised past Algeria 7-21 in the semi-final to secure a final against Zimbabwe.

The Sables will face perennial foes Namibia in the fina and will be hopeful following their 2024 semifinal win where they crushed the Namibians to claim the title.
