This is Senegal’s first ever title in this competition.

Full-time! Senegal have been crowned
African Schools Football Championship winners on April 10 in Harare, Zimbabwe. The U-15 Senegalese Cubs clinched the title after a dramatic penalty shootout, edging Uganda 5-4 following a tense 40- minute final that ended goalless (0-0).
Senegal faced Uganda in the final, a side boasting the tournament’s strongest defence. After a hard-fought, physical encounter that finished 0-0, the title was decided from the spot. The Senegalese players, calm under pressure and clinical in execution, converted all five of their penalties before goalkeeper Prosper Pereira emerged the hero, saving Uganda’s final kick to seal a 5-4 victory.
The Teranga Cubs went unbeaten in all four of their matches. They topped Group B thanks to two wins-3-2 against Tanzania, 1-0 over Benin-and a 1-1 draw with Zambia. In the semi-finals, Senegal demolished Morocco with a commanding 4-0 victory.
After finishing third in 2024 and runners- up in 2025, Senegal finally clinched their first ever title at the 2026 African Schools Football Championship, capping off a flawless campaign.
