Former Zengeza West Member of Parliament, Job Wiwa Sikhala, has officially denied rumors suggesting his involvement in upcoming protests set for the end of March.
In a statement made to clarify the situation, Sikhala stated he has no knowledge of the planned demonstrations and any accusations linking him to these activities are wholly unfounded.
Sikhala’s remarks were prompted by a post on his X handle (formerly Twitter), which was misinterpreted and led to baseless assumptions regarding his participation in the protests.
He emphasized that his focus and energies are directed toward more substantive and constructive pursuits, dismissing any engagement in actions that deviate from his core principles.
In his statement, Sikhala also addressed the pressing issue of misinformation on social media.
He urged the public to exercise discernment and scrutiny when consuming news and to validate facts before sharing or disseminating information. He called for an immediate cessation of the circulation of false allegations surrounding his involvement in the protests.
Furthermore, Sikhala reaffirmed his commitment to addressing societal issues through constructive and lawful means.
He acknowledged the right of individuals to express their grievances but made it clear that he does not support protests that could lead to unrest or instability.
