South Africa will be facing Nigeria later today as Morocco to battle Egypt in the Africa Cup of Nations Under 20 semi final match ups with a place in the final at stake.
, South Africa will battle against Nigeria at 1800hours at the Suez Canal Stadium, before Morocco ‘s young Atlas Lions take on the hosts Egypt ‘s young Pharaohs at 2100hours.
Following their narrow 1-0 victory against DR Congo in the quarter final, South Africa ‘s Amajita look to maintain their impressive run in the tournament gainst Nigeria. On the other hand, Nigeria’s young Super Eagles won 3-1 on penalties after 0-0 stalemate draw in regular time against defending champions Senegal.
Morocco booked a semi-final spot after securing 1-0 victory against Sierra Leone while Egypt defeated Ghana 5-4 on penalties after 2-2 draw in regular time. The two will face each other in the semi-final for a place in the U20 AFCON final.
All the semi-finalists South Africa, Nigeria, Morocco and hosts Egypt have secured their spots at the U20 FIFA World Cup 2025 set for Chile.
