A double-header featuring a Summer Warm-Up Bash and Top 4 soccer tournament is set for Sunday, September 6, 2026, at Ha Moze Chapfuche Dipen, Beitbridge.
Located about 35 kilometres from Beitbridge town, the event will bring together local disc jockeys, football teams and communities for a day combining sport and entertainment.
The Summer Warm-Up Bash will feature Beitbridge-based DJs, including DJ Doctor, DJ Makara and DJ Pacs.
Veteran DJ Mrex, whose real name is Prince Marambani, is also part of the entertainment line-up.
The event is expected to attract people from surrounding communities such as Nuli, Matshiloni, Lutumba, Tshitumbelele and Mugaladivha.
The soccer tournament will feature eight teams, namely Boss G FC, Chapfuche FC, Chivheregela FC, Gibbon FC, Godda FC, Stubb’s FC, Chibatamato FC and home side Chapfuche Dipen.
The winning team will receive R8,000, a trophy and medals, while participating teams are expected to pay a R500 joining fee.
Speaking to Ziyah News Network, event organiser Louse Muleya said preparations for the event were progressing well.
“Preparations are going well, so far so good as we await for the day.”
She called on football supporters from across Beitbridge to attend the tournament.
“We are calling upon all football lovers from across the Beitbridge district to come and experience good football in the area.”
“As the tournament ends, we have got the best of entertainment from our local talented disc jockeys, hence it is going to be a day filled with much entertainment and community interaction.”she said
Tournament coordinator Aleck Jingilisi said football had become part of holiday culture in local communities.
“Soccer is everything our brothers and sisters always grew up going to and has become a culture during holidays.”
He also said, he is expecting more tournaments like these to take place during the summer season.
“Therefore, as summer kicks off, we expect more soccer tournaments like this one happening in Beitbridge.”
He said teams were already preparing for the competition.
“So far, teams are gearing up and training is in process. We are looking forward to a competitive encounter as our local teams meet to play good football.”
Meanwhile, DJ Mrex said he was looking forward to performing at Ha Moze Chapfuche Dipen.
“ It feels great playing at Ha Moze Chapfuche Dipen.The crowd is there to dance and cheer on the best DJs have to offer.”
He said audiences could expect a selection of familiar music during the after-party.
“All I can say is the community should expect a rewind of good music as we perform alongside my brothers.”
Spectators are expected to arrive from 9am, with the soccer tournament scheduled to kick off in the morning before the entertainment programme takes over.
The event will therefore combine a day of local football with an evening entertainment programme, bringing together communities around Ha Moze Chapfuche Dipen.
