BLANKET Mine will continue their pursuit of a treble when they face Grain Tigers in the Dream Inn Super 8 quarterfinal at Sabiwa Stadium on Sunday, September 6.
Blanket Mine are currently the best performing club, having gone 22 matches unbeaten in the league while also remaining undefeated in the Munhumutapa Cup.
Judging by their league form and performances in the other competitions, Blanket Mine have the edge over Tigers.
However, Tigers will be looking to cause an upset and end the log leaders’ unbeaten run.
Blanket Mine are competing in three competitions this season namely the Central Region Soccer League, the ZIFA Munhumutapa Cup and the inaugural Dream Inn Super 8.
The in form Blanket Mine could complete a treble this season as they continue to cruise impressively through their campaign.
Coach Petros Jukulile has assembled a strong squad yet to lose a match this season.
In the league, Blanket Mine have recorded 16 victories and six draws from 22 matches.
Speaking about how he has managed to maintain consistency in every match, Jukulile said he tries to balance his squad by resting and rotating players.
“One thing for sure is we try to balance the equation, rest players, rotate them, and we have quite a number of capable players at this club,” Jukulile said.
Jukulile also expressed the importance of having squad depth, saying the club’s five new mid season signings have played an important role in helping the team maintain its consistent results.
Following his remarkable run in the Munhumutapa Cup, Jukulile said it is the club’s vision to compete and win in every competition and at every level.
Jukulile said that winning matches consistently has provided great motivation for his young players as they continue their impressive campaign.
