After several years of supporting the transgender and homosexual concepts by his country , US president Trump has made a bold move regarding gender after being sworn in.
The 47th US president Trump has abolished Joe Biden ‘s administration orders of transgender concept . He has signed an order that only recognise two genders, male and female declaring that these two cannot be changed.
Additionally, Trump’s return to power has coincided with growing criticism from the right and religious conservatives of the expansion of transgender rights in the US.
“As of today, it will henceforth be the official policy of the United States of America that they are only two genders, male and female,” Trump stated.
The US president has been espousing the traditional view of gender throughout the 2024 campaign. Trump and his supporters attacked Biden and Kamala Haris for supporting transgender rights.
Meanwhile, Trump ‘s administration orders of abolishing the transgender and homosexual concepts might be a blow to nations who have been adopting this initiative from the US through its funding.
In the African contest, some philosophers view, Trump ‘s order as a way of restoring the tradition views. Uganda ‘s President Museveni might have foreseen this case when he publicly rejected that the recognition of transgender and LGBTIQIA in Uganda.
The Biden administration used to threaten African leaders who did not want to comply with the transgender and homosexual concepts and no doubt Trumps declaration will resonate with those African countries who have been adamant against propping of LGBTIQIA rights.
