Three people aboard a light aircraft that went missing on Sunday while flying over KwaZulu-Natal Province in South Africa have been confirmed dead.

Authorities have confirmed that a plane that went missing on June 8, 2025, has been located in KwaZulu-Natal.

“It is with immense sorrow that we confirm the aircraft that had been missing since the evening of 8 June 2025 has now been located. Tragically, all three occupants on board have been found deceased.”

According to the Aeronautical Rescue Coordination Centre (ARCC), the wreckage of the aircraft was found near the town of Greytown.

Eagle Air’s Managing Director and Team have extended their heartfelt condolences to the families and friends of those who lost loved ones in the recent tragedy, offering deep sympathy and support

“Our heartfelt condolences go out to the families and friends of the deceased during this unimaginable time. We share in their grief and offer our thoughts and prayers.”

The South African Police Service (SAPS) and the South African Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA) have taken over the investigation saying “We are committed to offering our full cooperation and support in any way necessary to assist with the ongoing investigation.”
