Tonganyika Trust, a local non-governmental organization founded in 2017 by Hon. Tongai Munangagwa, is transforming lives in Beitbridge with a week-long free training program aimed at enhancing community skills in various sectors, including information technology, mortuary attendance, decoration, and beauty therapy.

Launched last Wednesday, this initiative is designed to break financial barriers to education and provide essential skills for employment.

Participants only need to pay a minimal fee of $2 for registration and $10 for their completion certificate, making the program accessible to all residents.

“Our mission is to equip Zimbabweans with the skills they need to succeed, ” Dr. Karimanzira, national coordinator for Tonganyika Trust, stated in an interview with Ziyah News Network.

“We are currently hosting our training at St. Joseph Primary School, and we are thrilled to see such enthusiasm among the participants,” he added

The response from attendees has been overwhelmingly positive, leaving many inspired by the opportunity to learn without the usual financial constraints.

“The cost of training programs has always been a hurdle for many in our community. Being part of this initiative is not just about learning; it’s about hope for a better future. I’m eager to apply what I learn to help others during difficult times,” one attendee noted.

In addition to topical courses, Tonganyika Trust is also offering free driving lessons with theoretical instruction and a subsequent VID test.

Dr. Karimanzira emphasized the importance of this comprehensive approach, “By providing skills and practical experience, we ensure that our community members are equipped to navigate the job market effectively.”

Tonganyika Trust aims to align its mission with the President’s vision of leaving no one and no place behind, focusing on empowering Zimbabweans through skill development.
