A devastating accident happened in Rusape over the weekend where a young man tragically lost his life after he was run over by the train.
The accident initially led to him losing both legs before he was rushed to a hospital in Rusape.
Due to the severity of his injuries, he was referred to Mutare General Hospital but, unfortunately, he passed on while on the way there.
The National Railways of Zimbabwe (NRZ) released a statement expressing their deepest condolences to the family of the deceased.
“We offer our deepest condolences to the family of the deceased during this incredibly difficult time, may the Lord comfort them and give them strength in their time of loss.”
The National Railways of Zimbabwe (NRZ) has issued a strong warning to the public, urging extreme caution when approaching or crossing railway tracks.
“We cannot overstate the importance of avoiding risky behavior around these hazardous areas,” said the NRZ.
“We urge all individuals to stay away from railway tracks and exercise vigilance to prevent similar incidents in the future.”
