Limpopo — A massive manhunt is underway after two Zimbabwean nationals were gunned down in Ha-Rangani Village, Masisi policing area, Vhembe District, in the early hours of Sunday.
South African Police Service (SAPS) say they were called to the scene at about 07:30 on 17 August, where they discovered two men fatally shot.
“One victim was found slumped in the driver’s seat with multiple gunshot wounds, while the second was discovered nearby, also riddled with bullets,” SAPS said.
The victims, aged 30 and 28, were originally from Bulawayo. One had been living in Musina Location, and the other in Ha-Rangani Village.
At the scene, investigators recovered live ammunition, several spent cartridges, and a cellphone belonging to one of the deceased.
Limpopo provincial police commissioner Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe condemned the killings, pledging an intensive search for the culprits.
“Resources have been mobilised to track down the suspects. We will not rest until they are brought to justice,” she said.
A double-murder case has been opened at Masisi Police Station and handed to the Provincial Organised Crime Unit.
