AN Uzumba-Maramba-Pfungwe woman whose video footage has gone viral as she beats a defenceless woman over allegations of infidelity has since been arrested.
Tambudzai Manjera is expected to appear in court soon as regards the assault but her alleged accomplice is still at large.
In response to questions from Ziyah News Network the Zimbabwe Republic Police Press and Liaison office said one of the women involved in the brutal assault has been nabbed.
“Reference is made to the video circulating on social media platforms in which two women are seen brutally assaulting a naked woman over infidelity allegations,” said ZRP.
“The ZRP confirms that the incident occurred in Uzumba-Maramba-Pfungwe on 20 February 2026 and Tambudzai Manjera(24) has since been arrested in connection with this case. Her accomplice Tanaka Manjera (22) is still at large. More information will follow in due course.”
In the video, two hugely built women are seen taking turns to hit a young subdued woman whose blouse appears bloody.
During the protracted brutal assault where a sizeable crowd of onlookers sound shocked, the women hit the young victinm with a missile on the head.
The bulky one in a blue trousers floors the defenceless young woman by throwing her down.
She then asks her accomplice to bring a switch used to “rain” indiscriminate whipping blows on the young woman even catching her privates as she wriggles in what appears excruciating pain.
In the seemingly heartless assault, one of the women says: “Leave prostitution, go and get married. We have told you this many times.”
In the process, the victim’s torn undergarments fly and expose her legs she flungs around to mitigate the might of strokes administered on her.
As the assaults ensues a bystander captures the entire episode on phone camera later made viral.
It is the 43 seconds video evidence police have used to arrest Manjera.
Despite previous similar incidences, Zimbabweans continue to take the law in their hands to administer their own type of justice which has seen many end behind bars.
