The Management of Urban Connect, the owners of the bus involved in a fatal road accident this morning claiming 25 lives so far has issued a statement offering condolences to families of the deceased and wishing a speedy recovery to those who were injured in the horror crash.
“As Urban Connect we want to express our heartfelt condolence to families and relatives of our fellow Zimbabweans who passed on in the bus accident on Thursday 13 February 2025 near the Lutumba Tollgate along the Masvingo Beitbridge Highway.
We wish a speedy recovery to those injured, said the company in the statement.
The management also promised to offer assistance to relatives of those who passed on and the injured who are currently admitted in Beitbridge, Gwanda and Bulawayo hospitals.
“We will offer compassionate assistance to relatives of the departed and we have started rendering assistance to the injured.”
Understanding the gravity of the accident and the need to get to the bottom of it, the company said it will work with relevant people to get to the bottom of this sad incident which has taken away loved ones from various families.
“We pledge to cooperate with authorities in investigations into this accident.”
The unfortunate accident occured at the 262km peg along the Masvingo -Beitbridge highwaya around 7 am of the thirteenth of February 2025.
