Vhembe Stars Academy has suffered a narrow 2-1 defeat against Blanket Mine FC on match day 12 of the Central Region Soccer League Division One at Dulibadzimu Stadium on Sunday.
Following a dissapointing 3-1 defeat against Super Strikers FC, The Beitbridge outfit failed to redeem themselves as they suffered back to back defeat at home against Gwanda sides.
Hlabati Methew broke the dead lock from a wonderful strike in the 15th minute to give Blanket Mine the lead, before Luke Jukulile scored a screamer outside the box to double the lead .
Vhembe Stars Academy ‘s Davies Nyamukondiwa scored a consolation goal from a wonderful header.
Speaking to Ziyah News Network, Coach Madombi said “We made a few errors that made us to concede early goal but the boys tried their best and we are looking forward to continue looking a better way into the next game,”.
After scoring his first goal of the season for Blanket Mine, Luke Jukulile highlighted, he is happy that is improving day by day and he is looking forward to score more goals.
“It has been a tough game but I’m very happy I managed to help my team and score a goal to secure maximum points. It’s all about the team winning not about me alone,” Said Jukulile.
A 2-1 win against Vhembe Stars saw Blanket Mine moving to 25 points while Vhembe Stars Academy remain with 10 points after match day 12.
