Central Region Soccer League Division One Vhembe Stars Academy and Sabi Gold Mine, both debutants, battle it out on Matchday 20 at Dulivhadzimu Stadium on Saturday.
In their first-ever meeting, Sabi Gold Mine walked away with maximum points after a 2-1 victory at home.
Backed by the home crowd, Vhembe Stars Academy hope to redeem themselves in front of their loyal fans.
The match promises to be one of the toughest.
Sabi Gold Mine come into this game with huge motivation after crushing Matobo 4-1, while Vhembe Stars Academy are motivated by their previous 2-0 win against Tongogara FC and are desperate to climb out of the relegation zone.
Vhembe Stars Academy have strengthened their squad compared to the first half of the season, where they struggled in front of goal.
Benedict Sithole, Morris Musamba and Vhembe Stars Academy’s top goal scorer Davies Nyamukondiwa are some of the players expected to lift the Beitbridge side when they face Sabi Gold Mine.
Sabi Gold Mine currently sit on 18 points after 19 matches, while Vhembe Stars Academy have 16 points from 18 matches.
That leaves just a two point gap between the two, with Vhembe Stars Academy still having a Matchday 19 fixture to play.
In a statement, Vhembe Stars Academy showed that they are keen to secure victory in their home match against Sabi Gold Mine.
“Matchday 20, we move, Vhembe Stars Academy family. This weekend we are in action, we are not stopping,” the club said.
Elsewhere, fellow Beitbridge giants Dulibadzimu United will travel to Kotamai Stadium to face Good Morning FC on Sunday.
The Beitbridge outfit will be looking to redeem themselves away from home after dropping 2 points at home on Matchday 19 against log leaders Blanket Mine FC.
