STRUGGLING Vhembe Stars Academy continues to feel the heat in the Central Region Soccer League after suffering a series of disappointing defeats.
The Beitbridge-based side went down 2-0 to FC Platinum U19 at Mandava Stadium in their match day 23, following a 1-0 defeat to Sabi Gold Mine and a heavy 4-1 loss to Good Morning FC at Dulibadzimu Stadium.
The Limpopo River side’s survival hopes have taken another major blow, leaving them rooted in the bottom three of the table with just 19 points from 23 matches.
The poor run of form and disappointing results have left U Vhumba la Matshelo staring at a serious relegation battle, with only a handful of matches remaining in the campaign.
Defensive lapses, missed chances and mounting pressure have continued to define their season.
After 23 matches, Vhembe Stars have recorded just four victories, 12 defeats and seven draws.
Speaking to Ziyah News Network, the club’s vice chairperson, Felix Venge, expressed his frustration following the team’s four consecutive defeats.
“Our boys have been failing to deliver, but we will fix it. We assure our fans that we won’t be relegated. We will fight until the end and we will survive,” Venge said.
