ZIMBABWE’s men’s senior national soccer team, the Warriors, is ready to battle fellow South Africa’s Bafana Bafana in the last Group B match of the Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco at 18:00 hours.
Following their 2-1 defeat to the Pharaohs and 1-1 draw against Angola, Zimbabwe looks to secure maximum points against rivals South Africa, as they vie for the knockout stage spot.
Mathematically, a win for Zimbabwe will seal the knockout stage either as runners-up or third-best placed team with 4 points.
Historically, South Africa has never defeated Zimbabwe in an AFCON match final, and Zimbabwe has not lost any last match of AFCON groups in the past 4 editions.
The Ghanaian YouTuber Wodemaya also took to his social media, highlighting that Zimbabwe – South Africa is one of the most anticipated matches.
“Zimbabwe – South Africa is a really good game to watch”, Wodemaya wrote.
South Africa and Zimbabwe last played a stalemate draw at their last FIFA World Cup qualifiers at Moses Mabida Stadium.
Meanwhile, Mozambique secured their first-ever Africa Cup of Nations win after beating Gabon 3-2 on December 28, 2025.
The Mambas registered their first win after 17 matches and six AFCON appearances.
