A married woman has approached the civil court seeking a protection order against her husband’s lover, whom she accuses of threatening her.
Silothando Sibafa was seeking the order against Talent Magaya.
The court heard that Sibafa wants Magaya barred from calling her and threatening to bring her relatives to assault her. She also asked the court to order Magaya to stay away from her 44 year old husband.
Presiding over the matter, Provincial Magistrate Mbonisi Kaweni advised that the court could not bar Sibafa’s husband from seeing Magaya, noting that if he has grievances, he should approach the court himself.
In response, Magaya told the court that she contacts Sibafa because there are two children involved who are not being taken care of.
Magaya said she dated Sibafa’s husband in 2010 and they had a child together in 2011, adding that he did not disclose that he was married at the time. She consented to an order not to insult Sibafa.
Kaweni ordered Magaya not to insult or threaten Sibafa. The order will remain in force for 12 months.
Magaya was further advised to apply for maintenance if she has challenges regarding child welfare.
