Beitbridge district champions, Zezani High School U17 Boys soccer team have been crowned Matebeleland South Provincial champions after a 2-0 victory against Mtshabezi in the provincial final.
Following their effortless 3 – 0 against St Joseph Mqabuko high school in the semis, the Beitbridge representatives secured the championship against Mtshabezi.
A 3-0 semi-final victory and 2-0 in the final become the redemption statement for the Zezani High School U17 Boys team following their last year defeat in the semi final by Wanezi Mission.
Speaking to Ziyah News, George Mageleza the Zezani coach said “ The boys fought very hard, with all their heart. It’s a good sign of determination from the boys to fight for their school badge. I’m proud of the boys, they represent the school well and the whole district, “he said.
” We also thank the school for the support and believing in us. I hope the boys continue to shine in the next stage”.
The Zezani team outclassed all opponents from Matebeleland South province in a line up of schools that included, Ekusileni Secondary, Manama High, Mtshabezi High, Mqabuko Secondary, Gohole Secondary, Solusi High, Phakamani High and Mbalabala Secondary.
