A Chinese bus manufacturer, Zhengzhou Bus the parent of Zhongtong Zimbabwe has dismissed claims that circulated on social media indicating it has suspended its operations locally.
A fake notice circulated on social media this week claiming that Zhengzhou Bus Zimbabwe was closing shop. The company flatly denied and disowned the notice.
“It has come to our attention that there are false claims and statements circulating regarding the operational status of Zhongtong Zimbabwe Pvt Ltd and in light of these statements we wish to officially clarify that these reports are completely unfounded and false. Zhongtong Zimbabwe Pvt Ltd remains fully operational and committed providing our clients with high quality services as has always been the case,” said the company statement
The company moved on to assure its stakeholders to discard the notice and continue doing business as usual.
We urge our clients, concerned stakeholders and partners to distance themselves and not rely on these bogus claims,.Our services continue as usual, and the management is here to support with any needs or inquiries that the public may have,”
Zhong Tong is a leading provider of high quality vehicles in Zimbabwe including buses and trucks.
Its parent company Zhengzhou was founded in 1958 as Liaocheng Vehicle Manufacturing and Repair Factory and commenced bus production in 1971. Following a series of name changes, it adopted its current name, Zhongtong Bus, in 1998 and is known for its popular coach brands, including Zhongtong and Yutong.
The Zhengzhou company produces a variety of buses including coaches, city buses, school buses, tourist buses and luxury business buses. These buses carter various transportation needs and efficient travel for passengers.
