Harare – Controversial Zimbabwean prophet Mellontik Orasi, often dubbed the “Prophet of Doom,” has once again ignited a firestorm of fear and speculation online after issuing a chilling prophetic warning involving South African music powerhouses DJ Maphorisa and DJ Cleo.
In a cryptic message shared on his official Facebook page earlier this week, Prophet Mellontik wrote:
“As it stands, Maphorisa and Cleo are under dark clouds, a heavy prayer will save them.”
Though brief, the message has since sent shockwaves across social media, prompting fans and followers to flood the comments with prayers, pleas, and concerns for the safety of the two legendary producers. Many urged the artists to take heed of the prophecy and “seek divine protection.”
Both DJ Maphorisa and DJ Cleo have yet to publicly respond to the warning.
The unsettling prophecy didn’t end there. In a separate follow-up post, Prophet Mellontik issued further predictions, hinting at looming tragedy within South Africa’s entertainment and public sectors.
“Whilst this post is still fresh:
South African male musician resting amapiano
South African male actor resting sabc, Mzansi telenovela
Massive train accident in South Africa, KZN.”
Although he stopped short of naming specific individuals, the implication of death and disaster has sparked anxiety among South Africans, particularly fans of the amapiano genre and popular television dramas.
Mellontik Orasi has developed a reputation for making bold and sometimes controversial prophecies, many of which generate heated debate across social platforms. His followers regard him as a seer of national and regional events, while critics accuse him of spreading fear and sensationalism.
With no official comment from authorities or the artists involved, the public remains divided some brushing off the prophecy as attention-seeking, others bracing for the worst.
