Zimbabwe is set to host the SADC region to mark the Regional World Children’s Day Celebrations in the Matabeleland North town of Hwange.

As per report presented to Cabinet by Public Service Labour and Social Welfare, Honourable July Moyo, and contained in the 29th Cabinet briefing, seven Heads of State from the region are expected to attend the event.

“Children will interact with their Heads of State presenting to them an updated Call-for-Action building up from previous commitments. The event will run under the theme “Educate and Skill the African Child for Posterity”, indicated the Cabinet statement.

His Excellency the President Cde. Dr. E.D. Mnangagwa will officiate at the event and will be joined by Heads of State from Botswana, Namibia, Zambia, Malawi, Mozambique and South Africa. The children who be part of the event will also have an opportunity to visit the Victoria Falls.

The celebrations will be held from the 15th to the 17th of November 2024 with the official event being the 16th of November
