Beitbridge, Zimbabwe – The Ziyah Media Annual Football Tournament for 2024 is set for the 23rd of November at  Dulivhadzimu Stadium, with all six participating teams ready to battle for the coveted title. This year’s tournament marks a significant expansion from last year’s edition, which featured only three teams: Vhembe High, St. Mary’s, and Chibi High.

This year, the tournament returns with an expanded and thrilling lineup of six teams, including three newcomers: Zezani, Tongwe, and Swereki. These teams secured their spots after demonstrating exceptional skill in the Nash Beitbridge District 2024, with Zezani qualifying as runners-up, Swereki as the best semifinalist, and Tongwe as the NASH champions.

In an interview with the Ziyah News Network, Ziyah Media Manager Aurther Muoni expressed excitement about the tournament’s growth.

“This increase from 3 to 6 teams is a significant milestone for Ziyah Media. It shows the growing interest in soccer within our community and aligns with our mission to promote local talents. We are excited to elevate the competitive spirit and foster greater community engagement through this tournament,” Muoni stated.

The tournament will feature two groups, A and B, with fixtures yet to be confirmed as the draw is scheduled to take place in the coming days.

The defending champions, Chibi High School, will be eager to defend their title in style, while Vhembe and St. Mary’s look to redeem themselves and perform better than last year. Meanwhile, Tongwe, Swereki, and Zezani aim for a successful debut in the tournament.

As the tournament approaches, anticipation is building among teams and fans alike, with the promise of thrilling matches and the opportunity for young talents to shine on a competitive platform.
