A 17 year old male juvenile was recently sentenced to 12 months in prison by the Chegutu Magistrates’ Court for unlawful entry into premises.
The juvenile, along with an accomplice who is still at large, broke into a residence in Chegutu by climbing the precast wall and using a hammer to break the door.
The duo stole various items, including clothes, shoes, a circular saw, and a cell phone, valued at $1,377.
Following a tip-off, the juvenile was arrested and led the police to the recovery of some of the stolen items.
The court sentenced the juvenile to 12 months in prison, with 6 months suspended on condition of good behavior, leaving 6 months to be served.
