A devastating road accident occurred at the 165-kilometre peg along the Harare-Chirundu Road resulting in the death of three foreign nationals and the injuring of 15 other people. The accident involved a bus from Malawi, carrying 119 passengers which veered off the road and overturned, landing on its left side.

According to the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP), the driver of the bus had attempted to avoid a collision with a breakdown recovery truck that was towing another truck involved in a prior accident.


“The driver had allegedly tried to avoid a collision with a breakdown recovery truck which was towing another truck which had been involved in a road accident,”

The drivers are urged to exercise caution on Zimbabwe’s highways, particularly when encountering recovery vehicles and approaching accident scenes.

The identities of the deceased have not been released, as their families have not yet been notified.
